Abrasive

Abrasive

Though both natural and man-made abrasives were used , nowadays all grinding wheels are made of man-made abrasives.

Superabrasive

Diamond abrasive, covalent crystallized carbon, is the hardest substance found in nature and has high thermal conductivity. For industrial purposes, nearly 100 % diamond is synthetic diamond.
CBN (Cubic Boron Nitride), composed of Boron and Nitride, is a man-made substance having the second hardness and superior thermal conductivity like diamond, and thermally stable.
